Mike Mitchell, Jr. was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on September 18. He came to the United States at the age of 6 and signed with a talent agency by the age of 13. He worked professionally as an actor throughout high school and into college, appearing in commercials, voice-overs, and print ads.
Music, like acting, has always been an equal passion. Mike has played the piano for as long as he can remember and first started singing in church. Since then, he has written and copyrighted countless songs, which he has performed at various venues around New York City.
Mike is also a private pilot! He received his license from Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK,
After living in Japan for a few years performing in several contracts with Tokyo Disney’s Big Band Beat, Florida was next! Mike was cast as Nakawa in Disney’s Festival of the Lion King. While in Florida, he continued to book commercials and print work in the Orlando/Tampa area. He also received rave reviews for his role in Lauren Gunderson’s two-person play, I and You, at Mad Cow Theatre in downtown Orlando.
Mike returned to the NYC area in 2018 and began shifting his focus away from the stage and toward the screen. He has most recently appeared in major national commercials for Verizon, Casper, Capital One, and Burlington, to name a few. His first co-star role was as the “Gas Station Manager” in Season 5, Episode 11 of Bull on CBS. His film credits include playing Reggie in the Lifetime film Murder at Blackthorne Manor and Atlas in the upcoming independent film Firelight, currently in post-production.
Mike is a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA. He is represented by Posche Models & Talent and Access Talent Voice Over Agency.
