About Mike Mitchell, Jr.

Mike Mitchell, Jr. was born in Kingston, Jamaica on September 18, and came to the United States with his parents, Audrey & Michael, and 2 siblings in 1987.

He was signed with Classic Model & Talent Agency at the age of 13 and worked professionally as an actor during high school in commercials, voice-overs, and print work.

Throughout high school and into college, Mike continued to pursue acting, landing lead roles in musicals like "Into The Woods" which ran at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, directed by E. Kirby, Jr. He was also cast as Windu in an Independent Sci-Fi Film shot on location in Tulsa. The film was viewed at the festival and released in select theaters.

Music, like acting, has always been an equal passion. Mike has played the piano as early as he can remember and first started singing in church. After a few Sundays of selecting well known songs, he decided to write his own. He has since written and copyrighted countless songs which he performs at various venues around New York City.

Mike's voice has been described as "a sneaky powerhouse with a unique tone." His music and style is also unique, showcasing his powerful vocals from years of musical theater with an interesting combination of alternative/rock/pop. Some of his inspirations of today include James Blunt, Gavin DeGraw, Michael Buble, John Mayer, Dashboard Confessionals, and Fiona Apple.

Another interesting fact is that Mike is also a private pilot! He received his license from Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK, and is certified to fly any single engine-land aircraft and has logged over 300 hours to date.

Mike currently resides in New York City and is a proud member of Actors' Equity! He is seeking new representation with an agency.
